Carla grew up in Greenville, SC and moved to Pawleys Island in High School. After Law School she returned to Pawleys Island with her family and has lived in Pawleys Island for the past fourteen years.

Carla earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Coastal Carolina University where she graduated Cum Laude in 2002. She then went on to attend law school at University of South Carolina School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree in 2006.

Carla held internship with Mike Kelly Law Group, located in Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked as a summer law clerk in 2005. She also held a position as a clerk at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Columbia, South Carolina. In June 2004, Carla interned for the Honorable Lindsey O. Graham, U.S. Senator for South Carolina in Washington, District of Columbia.

Upon graduating from The University of South Carolina School of Law, Carla joined the Bell Legal Group. While working with the Bell Legal Group Carla focused on Medical Malpractice, Products Liability, Personal Injury, Sexual Abuse and Environmental Law. Carla left the practice of law for a period of time to raise her family. She has four wonderful children- Richard, Marshall, Owens and Carly. Carla missed the practice of law and joined Goldfinch Winslow, LLC, to head up their Family Law Practice.

In 2020, Carla founded the Falk Todd Law Firm, LLC. One of Carla’s main goals in opening the new firm is to be able to meet each client’s unique and individual needs.

When she is not practicing law, Carla enjoys volunteering at the Waccamaw schools and at her church, All Saints. Carla founded Georgetown County-COVID 19 Community Help Facebook Group. The Group provides information about COVID19 and also provides resources for those in need. She also sits on the board of director’s for the non-profit, Emily’s House which hosts family vacations at the beach for families who have a member with brain cancer.

As you can imagine the majority of Carla’s free time is spent helping with homework and going to kid’s soccer, basketball and Lacrosse games. Carla is married to Ricky Todd, Senior Attorney for the Fifteenth Circuit Public Defender’s Office. Her family and their three cats, two dogs and 70-pound Tortious, Clyde, live in Pawleys Island.
